Kumho Ecsta MX XRP

Kumho's family of Ecsta (x' ta) performance tires is designed to enhance every vehicle's capabilities. The Ecsta MX XRP (Extended Runflat Performance) is Kumho's Max Performance Summer self-supporting run flat tire developed to provide temporary, continuing mobility exclusively for the drivers of C-5 Corvettes in the case of complete air loss due to a puncture. While the Ecsta MX XRP is designed to deliver Kumho's ultimate level of dry road performance while maintaining good wet traction, it is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice. Vehicle Application Tire Size Chevrolet C-5 Corvette (front) 245/45R17 95Y Chevrolet C-5 Corvette (rear) 275/40R18 99Y The Ecsta MX XRP molds an advanced silica tread rubber compound into a directional tread pattern that features massive, stable blocks to increase cornering traction and steering response, while four large circumferential and multiple directionally aligned lateral grooves resist hydroplaning and enhance wet traction. Internally, the two wide steel belts are reinforced by spirally wound nylon cap plies to provide excellent strength, uniform ride quality and Y-speed rated capability while the sidewalls are tuned to resist lateral deflection and to provide handling control and feedback. Rubber run flat inserts are molded on the inside of both of the tire's sidewalls to provide temporary continuing mobility in the event of a puncture causing air loss.
