The rugged tread pattern tire makes the Duratrac Tire a good compromise between an all-terrain and mud off road tire (but don’t misjudge it for a heavy duty mud tire). The tire has many handy options. Plenty of siping allows for excellent traction on water soaked roads and loose gravel. Little claws in the special tread valley give traction in very deep snow, mud, and sand. The tires are pinned for metal snow studs and feature a little bit of wheel protection.
The Goodyear Duratrac Tire is fairly light weight as well, weighing in at less than a reasonable 60 lbs. Note that the big tire measures 34 ¼” tall, not 35. They look aggressive and have comfortable road manners. Minimal road noise for this type of tire and confident handling have been been noted by customers.
15,000 miles and 15 hard driving wheeling trips in and The Goodyear Duratrac Tire starting to show wear. Original tread depth when new was ½”; I’ve lost 1/8″ and the tread blocks are starting to look rounded.
Sidewall thickness have always been the main issue with these tires. But they are still acceptable
Overall the Goodyear Duratrac are fantastic tires. They give lots of confidence on the road and hardcore trail and have become one of the most popular tires for this reason.
