57Motorsport Wheels |
To reduce wheel costs,
World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) Super 2000 regulations allow for
only cast wheels up to 17"x9" with a maximum weight of 9.0 kg (19.84
lbs.) each. 57Motorsport cast wheels meet these WTCC size specs and
exceed performance expectations.
RAYS, manufacturer of 57Motorsport wheels, has been successful in the
development and manufacturing of forged wheels and is at the forefront
of casting technology. The 57Motorsport brand showcases these technical
abilities as well as their entry into the WTCC.
Incorporating superior design, development and manufacturing techniques
into the 57Motorsport brand results in a cast wheel that offers similar
performance to a forged wheel at a great value.
The designs are tailored to exhibit high rigidity and anti-flex
properties - properties most important in a racing wheel. The wheels are
lightweight, big brake caliper-compliant, feature reinforced rim barrels
and offer racing technologies like a knurled bead seat to prevent tire
slippage for high horsepower applications.
Throughout the manufacturing processes, 57Motorsport wheels are subject
not only to Japan's JWL standards for alloy wheels, but to RAYS' own JWL
+ R standards - standards set that go above and beyond what is required
by JWL to meet RAYS' higher standards for quality, consistency and
fine-tuned design.
JWL +R standards subject RAYS wheels to tests two times more severe than
JWL requirements. For example, RAYS testing machines drop a one-ton
weight at a 90-degree angle on a wheel/tire assembly to test strength
and stability. Other tests using sophisticated simulation software as
well as real-world racetrack testing in Europe and Asia, ensure the
highest levels of endurance, rigidity and finish quality are maintained. |
