These tires are specially constructed to grip
snowy surfaces. Even the rubber is specially formulated to stay pliable in the
cold & give you better traction on icy roads. However, this same construction
features make snow tires prone to more rapid treadwear than other tires on dry
surfaces.
Note: If you normally use high performance tires on your car, you should
be aware that the addition of winter tires will dramatically affect the way your
car handles. We strongly recommend winter tires be placed on all four wheel
positions.
Tip for storing your
winter tires over the summer:
Protecting your winter tire investment for as long as possible is easy! The best
place to store them is in a cool, dry location such as your basement. You can lay
them flat, stacked on top of each other, 4 high. That method offers the most
support & should eliminate problems when you next apply them in the fall.
In addition, we strongly recommend you return to the store/dealer where you
purchased the tires & ask for storage bags. These are just thin plastic bags
to wrap the tires in, but they will protect the tires from natural ozone in the
air which can cause the tire rubber to dry out & crack. The bags should be
free & will extend the life of your tires. Wrap them individually, then stack
them. |
