The X-Ice is Michelin's Studless Ice &
Snow winter tire developed for the drivers of coupes, sedans &
family vans that want a boost in winter driving confidence. X-Ice
winter tires are designed to combine X-tra ice & snow traction
with enhanced handling on wet & dry roads.
The X-Ice molds an advanced silica-based
winter tread rubber compound that remains flexible at lower
temperatures into a directional tread design that helps maintain
good traction on wet & slush-covered roads. It features Cross Z-Sipes
Technology to increase tread & shoulder block stability to provide
the lateral & longitudinal stiffness for better handling on dry
& wet roads & more grip on ice- & snow-covered roads The X-Ice
winter tire’s combination of capabilities is made possible by
Michelin's Stress Equilibrium casing that evenly distributes the
contact forces across the footprint.
Michelin X-Ice winter tires meet the
industry’s severe snow service requirements & are branded with the
snowflake-on-the-mountain symbol. The X-Ice winter radials feature
blackwall styling & are available in 80-, 75-, 70-, 65-, 60-, 55-
& 50-series, Q-speed rated sizes for 13" through 17" wheel
diameters.
NOTE: Snow platform indicators (the
equivalent of “snow wear bars”) are molded into the X-Ice's tread
grooves to inform the driver when ice & snow traction will be
reduced as the tire’s tread wear reaches the point where the
remaining tread depth becomes less effective in deep snow.
Install X-Ice tires in sets of four
only.
Due to the traction capabilities of
the X-Ice, Michelin recommends using X-Ice tires in sets of four to
provide the best handling characteristics & tire performance.
