Technology isGoodyear's premium Highway All-Season light truck tire
designed to provide pickup & SUV drivers with the quiet comfort of
a passenger car & rugged utility of a light truck. The Fortera
featuring SilentArmor Technology is designed to blend utility,
strength, comfort & style while providing traction on dry &
wetroads, as well as in light snow.
On the outside, the Fortera featuring
SilentArmor Technology has a longwearing tread compound molded into
a tread designthat enhances traction & ride comfort while reducing
noise levels. Staggered circumferential grooves & curvilinear
sipes & grooves are integrated into the tread design to provide
the biting edges that enhance year-round traction. Thetire's
shoulder design & sidewall offer a combination of style &
ruggednessthat complements the vehicle's image.
Goodyear's SilentArmor Technology
features an Armor Zone to provide rugged toughness. It consists of
twin high-tensile steel belts reinforced by a layer made with DuPont
KEVLAR cord to combine strength with comfort, Goodyear's Durawall
sidewall rubber compound to help resist punctures, scuffing &
abrasion, & a Rim Guard protector that helps protectwheels from
accidental curb damage.

Technology also has a Comfort Zone that uses a super-shock absorbent
layer of rubber sandwiched between the tread & steel belts
(providing an average of 20% more cushion than standard SUV/LT
tires) to help insulate the vehicle from vibration & rough road
conditions, providing a smoother, more comfortable ride.
The tire's structure includes a
polyester cord body to help enhance ride comfort.
