The
ContiCrossContact Winter is Continental's Light Truck
Performance Winter tire developed for the drivers of
powerful, heavy 4x4 vehicles. The ContiCrossContact Winter
focuses on dependable dry road handling, wet road
hydroplaning resistance and winter driving competence.
The ContiCrossContact Winter tire molds Continental's
advanced silica compound into an asymmetric tread design
featuring large, stiff tread blocks on the outboard shoulder
that use self-stiffening sinusoidal sipes to ensure
directional control at highway speeds. Smaller, more
flexible blocks in the center of the tread and on the inside
shoulder feature biting-edge sipes to enhance grip on snow
and ice. Flow-optimized shoulder patterns and wide
circumferential grooves (three or four depending on the
tread width) help resist wet road hydroplaning. The tire's
internal structure includes twin steel belts on top of a
polyester carcass. Selected high-speed sizes also feature
spirally wound nylon reinforcement above the steel belts to
resist distortion at high speeds and while cornering.
ContiCrossContact Winter tires meet the industry's severe
snow service requirements and are branded with the
mountain/snowflake symbol.
Install Continental ContiCrossContact Winter tires in sets
of four only.
Due to the traction capabilities of ContiCrossContact Winter
tires, Continental recommends using them only in sets of
four to provide the best handling characteristics and tire
performance. |
