The Mud-Terrain
T/A KM "DT" (the KM identifies BFGoodrich's Key feature: Mud
traction). And while the “DT” is not branded on the tire's
sidewall, it is The Tire Rack's way to identify this tire as
a very unusual Off-Road Maximum Traction tire). Although
BFGoodrich simply includes this tire in their Mud-Terrain
T/A KM lineup on the Internet, they use a "DT" (Different
Tread) suffix in their literature. The Mud-Terrain T/A KM
"DT" was developed to provide aggressive off-road looks for
the drivers of performance pickups, radical jeeps and super
SUVs using 22-inch diameter wheels.
Rather than featuring the tread design used on other
Mud-Terrain T/A KM tires, the Mud-Terrain T/A KM "DT"
features a Krawler T/A KX-inspired tread design that
combines deep, aggressive independent blocks with solid
sidewall lugs. The tire's structure includes twin steel
belts reinforced by BFGoodrich's ETEC (Equal TEnsion
Containment) System that uses spirally wound nylon to
provide excellent strength and consistent footprint pressure
while it helps provide more uniform ride quality. The
Mud-Terrain T/A KM "DT" features BFGoodrich's TriGard
three-ply polyester carcass construction, while a rim
protector provides wheel and sidewall protection. |
