Continental Tire Fusion of Technology and Style Continues

The Continental Tire North America, Inc. (CTNA) Passenger & Light Truck Replacement Group announced today that it will continue the joint marketing partnership with Wholesale Tire & Wheel Corporation (WTW) – parent of the high-end wheel brand “Giovanna”. The joint marketing partnership officially launched at the Specialty Equipment Manufacturing Association Show (SEMA) last year, officially brought together WTW’s unparalleled style & CTNA’s tire technology. CTNA launched two (2) Giovanna edition tires last year & will launch nine (9) passenger & two (2) SUV tire sizes at SEMA 2006.

“In order to take the joint marketing partnership to the next level we felt we had to do something big. Therefore, we are introducing nine sizes of the ContiSportContact 2 Giovanna edition & two sizes of the ContiCrossContact UHP Gianelle design. The tires will be showcased at the joint SEMA booth that will have an amazing & innovative design concept,” said Paul Tecci, CTNA’s Manager of Programs, Promotions & Events. The Giovanna edition & Gianelle design tires will be available in the following sizes:

“The success of the joint marketing partnership was outstanding last year, it was a very easy decision to move forward with Giovanna (WTW) at this year’s SEMA show as this is a win-win for both companies,” said Travis Roffler, Continental’s Director of Marketing. “We want to build off the momentum from last year & really showcase our joint presence at SEMA 2006. The roll-out of the 11 tire sizes will highlight the success of the joint marketing partnership.”

The joint marketing partnership of two innovative companies will create a force in the industry by combining a lifestyle-driven wheel company with a technology-&-performance-minded tire company. The new product provides an opportunity for customers to acquire the trendsetting style & fashion of a Giovanna wheel with the unparalleled performance & technology of a Continental tire. The goal is to harness the fusion of technology & style to provide increased brand awareness.

In addition to the ContiSportContact 2 Giovanna edition tire, CTNA & WTW will be showcasing their premium tires & wheels at the SEMA 2006 at booth numbers 43927 & 43947. At these booths, CTNA will showcase its UHP, HP, & luxury tire lines which include the ContiSportContact 2, ContiProContact, ContiCrossContact LX & ContiCrossContact UHP. WTW will present its premium & mid-range wheel lines including Giovanna, Gianelle, GFG, Double G & G-Racing.

The ContiSportContact 2 tire was originally launched in 2001 & has become a staple in the UHP tire segment. The tire provides pinpoint handling & outstanding performance at high speeds on wet or dry surfaces. The ContiSportContact 2 tire is the optimum choice for true car enthusiasts.
