Initial Review, 45,000 Miles on Tires

We got these tires for an all-wheel drive 98 Town & Country & they seemed great! When we got a used 2005 T&C (front wheel drive), we swapped these tires onto it. Unfortunately, the lack of all wheel drive revealed the one weakness of this tire: poor wet traction - truly awful. My wife complains about wheel spin when it rains - the traction control constantly kicks in. They feel good on dry pavement and are OK in the snow, but the wet traction issue means I won't buy these again, even if they're cheap. I trusted BF Goodrich for many years, but I usually got the T/A series tires. Too bad, because Goodrich tires have gotten pretty pricey these days - they shouldn't put their name on a lame piece of rubber like this.

Initial Review, 49,402 Miles on Tires

I purchased 4 tires in 1/07 from a dealer for $70.00/tire plus all other fees. The tires had a 70,000 mile warranty. In 8/10, I took my car to the dealer to complain about the wear on the tires. I have to be honest, I might have gotten the tires rotated and balanced three times, but ensured proper inflation on a monthly basis. The tires did not show any signs of cupping or other abnormal wear patterns. When the dealer measured the tire depth, 3 tires measured 4/32 and one tire was at 2/32(the minimum). These tires were supposed to be 70,000 mile tires, and I had gotten about 45,000 miles on these tires. I thought I should have at least 2 more years on these tires. It is now 10/10, and I have 49,000 miles on the tires. One tire has 24 slits going from the tread through the sidewall, another tire has 8 slits through the sidewall, and I can't wait for the other tires to start going. DO NOT BUY THIS TIRE!!!! Interesting enough, the delaer does not carry this tire anymore, but refuses to compensate me even though it is obvious that it is a poor product rather than poor maintenance. Hence my participation on TireRack.com. I am leaning towards the Yakohoma Avid Touring-S. I will try to remember to update.

Installed a set on my 98' civic because they were on sale super cheap.they are good tires that handle very well in snow. Had a mega snow storm thatcripple the metropolitan area for a couple of days and I made a 80 mile round trip to work while the road weren't quite cleared of slush and snow.Did just fine and only once I ran into trouble when I tried to push through what seemed like a foot of slush and lost traction till I was clear of the slush.I did notice the drop in the gas mileage(probably due to the M+S rating.)If you want M+S rating this tire is a good value, but if you don't care for the rating you will pay more for gas for the life of the tire so I wouldn't consider this one.All things considered they are quite, smooth and reliable tires. Most likely the thread life is very closely accurate from the look of my tires.Barely notice any ware from 10,000 miles of usage.
