Initial Review, 15,000 Miles on Tires

I use my g35 for my weekend toy and like to drive it agressively. Treadwear is good especially for low profile tires. The main reason why I am writing this review is to make people aware about how noisy these tires are. Is have a lifted truck with Mud Terrain tires and they are just as loud as my BFG KDW2. From 5mph to 80mph these tires are annoyingly loud. I have an aftermarket exhaust and cant even hear it because these tires drone it out. If you are somebody that doesnt mind noise they are OK tires but the noise will drive you nuts.

To date these are the best tires I have owned. Between all my cars I have had hankkooks(v12s/ice bears) Yoko avids, nitto neogens, Michelin pilot mx, falkens etc etc the list goes on. I have always been on a quest to find a decently priced performance tire. These are a little more than I like to spend, but the reasons now are obvious why they cost more, they are fantastic! Started with a set on the rear, and while I can force them to break away, they really tamed the rear end of the Z with some really good traction, I can barely chirp them in second gear depending on road conditions, the kooks and Michelins were all over the place, literally. I followed up with some on the front and the sidewall stiffness is superior to all the others. This has been the greatest weakness of all the other tires in the handling department; this is the first tire I have had that the side walls were nice and firm. I honestly do not know how those v12s got ---- good ratings from all over the place, I think the sidewalls are like jello, maybe good for a civic? I hear read complains of noise with this tire, but I just don�t notice it that much on the Z, it�s a sports car, its lowered, has a stereo system, it doesn�t matter to me, the tire performance does. I would go putting this on your luxury car, they do ride firm. I can take bents and turns at 10-15 mph faster than any other tire I have owned, confidently. This tire is worth the extra money, and deserves a serious look from anyone looking for a well priced performance tire, and the tread pattern is awesome too! Right now the rears are at 7/32nds so I expect around 15k on the rear, which I melted the kook v12s in 7k....I am hard on tires to say the least.

I was running Dunlop Star Specs at first, however the rear tires only lasted 7k miles. This gets expensive very quickly for me, and I did have a tire alignment Right after the tires were purchased. A friend who works for a Tire store suggested these, informing me that the corvette guys really like these tires. So far I have been running them for almost 6k miles, they still look brand new, have a very high level of grip, not as good as the star specs, but they are comparable with the life span they offer. The toughest part of the job is finding the ideal air pressure to run with these on the rear and the star specs from my original set on the fronts.I have not had a chance to run these on the auto cross tracks yet, but I can say for everyday driving, highway runs, and spirited canyon runs these tires are GREAT for life span vs. traction on the rear of my car. I very much enjoy the star specs for the front level of traction on my vehicle.
