Yokohama Rubber Company is
set to release its DNA Earth-1 automotive tire series on February 1.
This new generation environmentally friendly tire series'
high-dimensional improvements in both grip force & reduced rolling
resistance was achieved using a proprietary orange oil mixture.
Yokohama Rubber will target a wide range of vehicle types beginning
with all 70 series size tires for mid-sized import vehicles. The DNA
Earth-1 automotive tire series will also be available for domestically
manufactured sedans, mid-sized minivans, compact cars, &
mini-vehicles.
Compared to the DNA ECOS, the flagship tire in its Eco DNA tire range,
the new DNA Earth-1 tires feature 21 percent lower rolling resistance
which contributes to increased vehicle fuel efficiency. Its low energy
consumption was achieved by applying the compound technology used in
DNA dB super E spec tires--the flagship tire in its Eco DNA tire
series- just released in July of last year.
Tire rolling resistance was reduced by increasing the percentage of
natural rubber, which is characterized by limited heat generation.
Yokohama engineers succeeded in improving the tire grip force by
introducing an orange oil mixture which is known to enhance the
elasticity of the rubber. Yokohama Rubber yielded a new
multi-performance tire of new construction & a new tread pattern that
achieves superior fuel efficiency, offering a well-rounded tire with a
high level of wet grip force, quietness, & traveling comfort. |
