RiDE and Motor Cycle News readers rate Avon Tires
Avon Tires’ motorcycle fitments have rated very highly in two
recent product tests.
Readers from the UK’s biggest selling bike publication Motor Cycle News voted
the Avon Storm ST third in their choice of Tire in the popular sports touring
sector.
The Tire also scored the third highest average number of miles before
replacement and showed a big saving on the Tires in first and second place,
making it one of the most cost-effective Tires in its class.
The votes were from MCN readers – and more than 12,000 take part in the
various product tests which together make it Britain’s biggest biking survey
and the most comprehensive review of kit and accessories in the UK.
Meanwhile, in RiDE’s annual 2009 RiDER Power Survey issue, there were more
positive results for Avon Tires.
In the overall top 10 category, the Avon Storm ST came third, above the likes
of Michelin’s Pilot Power 2CT, Dunlop’s RoadSmart and a host of Bridgestone
fitments, such as the BT-021, 016, 020 and 014 Tires. Also, in the category
for longevity for front Tires the Storm ST came in third place, ably backed up
by the Azaro ST in fifth place and the Avon Viper Sport in sixth. For rear
Tires the Azaro ST took fourth place with the Storm ST in fifth, making it
another successful RiDER Power for Avon Tires.
Avon Tires is a Cooper Tire & Rubber Company brand, and has been designing and
manufacturing Tires for many different motorcycles and specifications since
1885 and manufactured their first motorcycle Tire in 1911.
