SCCA RUNOFFS 2009

September 27, 2009 Elkhart Lake, WI – On what had turned out to be a beautiful autumn weekend, for the most part a bit of rain to end the weekends events, the 45th SCCA Runoffs were held on the spectacular 4.0 mile rolling, twisting, turning Road American road course.  Hoosier Racing Tire was there to support & service over half of the more than 600 entrants that competed for 25 National Titles.

The SCCA National Championship Runoffs is one of the top 10 events in motorsports.  SCCA Club Racing drivers do not simply enter the Runoffs, they are invited. To earn an invitation to the Runoffs, a driver must be amongst the top 10 in their class in one of the nine SCCA Divisions, or be that class’ defending National Champion.

The Runoffs began with three days of qualifying from September 22-24th.  Racing began Friday, September 25th & continued through September 27th.  There were 25 race groups 24 races in all, varying from high tech open-wheel cars, to high-power American muscle cars & even stock sedans straight off the showroom floor.  Each race is 13 laps (52.624 miles) in length.

Servicing done by Hoosier Tire Midwest, out of Plymouth , Indiana was done in a timely, organized & effective fashion, getting drivers out on the track racing.  Hoosier Racing Tire corporate also added valuable engineering & technical service.
