ATE Brakes Today's vehicles offer the utmost in safety, ride and performance, so why should the vehicle's replacement parts provide anything less? Technicians agree there's no room for compromise — replacement products, particularly braking systems, must meet or exceed OE performance and safety standards. These requirements can only be met with the technology and engineering experience gained through proven expertise in braking systems.

The ATE Brand Delivers

Say "Ah-Tay."

ATE is the aftermarket brand of Continental Automotive Systems, one of the world's leading brake system manufacturers. Continental has a century of experience in the development and production of braking technologies. As a brake supplier to the world's largest automakers, Continental can effectively leverage its engineering standards — innovative technology, first quality materials, expert product and process engineering — to the entire ATE line of brake products.

A Trusted Brand Name in Europe for 100 Years

"Engineering excellence is our heritage. We understand the entire brake system and how each component affects a vehicle's safety and performance," said Donald James, Marketing Manager - Aftermarket, Continental Automotive Systems - North America. "Because we transfer our OE expertise into our aftermarket products, we can guarantee that the quality and performance of our product line meets or exceeds OE standards."

ATE has been a trusted brand name in Europe for 100 years. From the introduction of the first hydraulic brake system in 1926 to developing the first antilock braking system prototype in 1967, the ATE brand has a rich history of innovation and experience.

ATE offers a comprehensive range of premium aftermarket brake parts for both European (ATE Original) and Domestic/Asian (PremiumOne™) vehicle applications in North America, including brake pads and shoes, drums, rotors, fluids and hydraulic parts.

ATE Original Brake Pads   Search by vehicle

ATE Original brake pads for European vehicles offer constant friction and fade resistance, long life and ECE R-90 approval. They offer high braking power and by effectively reducing noise they meet Original Equipment standards. A textured backplate enhances the mechanical bond between the semi-metallic friction material and backplate, ensuring they do not separate even under extreme pressure and stress. They also feature anti-noise shims for low braking noise in accordance with O.E. standards. Wear sensors are included in order to indicate the wear limits (if recommended by the OEM).

ATE PremiumOne Disc Brake Rotors   Search by vehicle

ATE PremiumOne Disc Brake Rotors offer these advantages and benefits to the owners of domestic, European and Asian vehicles.

Features
Benefits
•
Patented RotorLife wear indicator.
•
Helps technicians and vehicle owners gauge rotor thickness at a glance, and notice when they are due for replacement.
•
The wear indicator's interlaced elliptical grooves are machined into the rotor face at complimentary angles.
•
Groove design enhances dissipation of heat and gases to reduce brake fade, extend pad life. Looks great with cast spoke wheels.
•
The MetaCote protective coating formulation is cured at approximately 572°F. No grease or oil to remove.
•
Helps protect against road salt, brake fluid and other corrosives — sheds water and dirt for clean appearance behind cast spoke wheels. Reduces overall installation time.
•
Application specific design is engineered to tighter tolerances than rotors that take a "one size fits all" approach.
•
Fits and performs like or better than the Original Equipment it replaces — provides added value and convenience for brake technicians and their customers. No machining needed.

ATE SL.6 Brake Fluid   Search by vehicle

Brake fluid transmits the pressure applied to the brake pedal by the driver to the brakes themselves. Since the introduction of electronic systems like ABS (Anti-Lock Brake System) and ESP (Electronic Stability Program), brake fluid has become increasing important. The hydraulic units of these systems have a large number of small bores and ducts, some of them smaller in diameter than a human hair. Additionally, ESP systems rely on brake fluid to help decelerate individual wheels in fractions of a second in order to stabilize the vehicle in critical situations (e.g. a skid).

ATE's SL.6 Brake Fluid is a thin-bodied brake fluid designed to optimally work with these systems and meets and exceeds FMVSS§571.116, DOT 4/DOT 3, SAE J1703 as well as ISO 4925, Class 6 requirements. Most vehicle manufacturers already use the low-viscosity DOT 4, Class 6 (ISO 4925) brake fluids in production cars (OEM and OES).

Features/Benefits of ATE SL.6 Brake Fluid:

  • Low viscosity (thin-bodied)
  • Permits fastest response by ESP
  • Ideal brake fluid for electronic brake systems like ESP, ABS, TCS (Traction Control System), etc.
  • Boiling point minimum: 509 degrees F
  • Wet boiling point minimum: 347 degrees F
  • Viscosity at -104 degrees F: max 700 mm 2/5
  • Designed to last up to 2 years under normal highway driving conditions

To maintain the functional reliability of brake systems, brake fluid must be changed according to the specifications of the vehicle manufacturer (quality and change interval).

ATE Super Blue Racing High Performance Brake Fluid   Search by vehicle

NOTE TO FLORIDA RESIDENTS ONLY: ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid,
due to its blue color, cannot be registered in and is not DOT-approved
for street cars in Florida.

ATE Super Blue Racing High Performance Brake Fluid is designed to excel within the extreme demands made on a race vehicle and exceeds all DOT4 standards. It is compatible with and will mix well with most DOT3, DOT4, or DOT 5.1 fluids.

The formula offers a minimal drop in boiling point due to outstanding water binding properties resulting in a long-lasting fluid that may not need to be changed for up to 3 years under normal highway driving conditions. Products with a lower wet boiling point have to be replaced considerably more often (e.g., DOT3 products should be replaced annually). The overall high dry and wet boiling points make this fluid an excellent choice for street driven vehicles, too, where brake fluid is flushed less frequently than that in race-driven vehicles.

Features/Benefits of ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid:

  • Blue tint of fluid makes bleeding brakes easier
  • Ideal for race use, excellent choice for street driven vehicles, too
  • Boiling point minimum: 536 degrees F
  • Wet boiling point minimum: 388 degrees F
  • Viscosity at -104 degrees F: max 1,400 mm 2/5
  • Designed to last up to 3 years under normal highway driving conditions

To maintain the functional reliability of brake systems, brake fluid must be changed according to the specifications of the vehicle manufacturer (quality and change interval). In race/track applications, it becomes even more critical that the brake fluid is routinely changed to maintain optimum performance.

For race applications, vehicle owners will often alternate fluid flushes between ATE Super Blue Racing Brake Fluid and ATE TYPE 200 Amber Brake Fluid. The identical specifications of the fluid and color difference make it easy to know when the old fluid is completely flushed out of the system.

ATE TYPE 200 Amber Brake Fluid   Search by vehicle

ATE TYPE 200 Amber Brake Fluid is designed to excel within the extreme demands made on a race vehicle or by high performance drivers and exceeds all DOT4 standards. It is compatible with and will mix well with most DOT3, DOT4 or DOT 5.1 fluids.

The formula offers a minimal drop in boiling point due to outstanding water binding properties resulting in a long-lasting fluid that may not need to be changed for up to 3 years under normal highway driving conditions. The overall high dry and wet boiling points make this fluid an excellent choice for street driven vehicles, too, where brake fluid is flushed less frequently than that in race-driven vehicles.

Features/Benefits of ATE TYP 200 Amber Brake Fluid:
